The invention provides a rivet (100) and method of installing the rivet to attach honeycomb material (184) to other materials (186, 188). The rivet in installed in hole by a back sleeve (102) is inserted through one end of the hole while a front side sleeve (104) with a stem member (160) is inserted through the other end of the hole such that a head (154) of the stem member and a sleeve of the front sleeve are positioned within a sleeve of the back sleeve. A shank (158) of the stem member is then pulled such that the head of the stern member expands the sleeve portions of both sleeves into the materials to attach to the rivet to the materials. A locking collar (108) is also provided to lock the stem member to the front sleeve. |
