Preparation of poly(meth)acrylate by actinic radiation and/or Dual-Cure by preparation of a hydroxyfunctional side chain poly(meth)acrylate (HSPA), polymerization of at least one (meth)acrylate, at least one hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate, with adjuvant monomers as a component, and (b) ester interchange or esterification of HSPA with (meth)acrylate or (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of an ester interchange or esterification catalyzing enzyme is new. A process for preparation of poly(meth)acrylate by actinic radiation and/or Dual-Cure by the steps:(a) preparation of a hydroxyfunctional side chain poly(meth)acrylate by polymerization of: (aa) at least one (meth)acrylate of formula (I) as component A: R1 = H, Me, or CH2OH, R2 = alkyl optionally substituted by acryl-, ether-, amino-, epoxy-, halogen- or sulfonic acid groups, (ab) at least one hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate of formula (II) as component B: R1 = as above; R3 = -(CH2)n-, -CH2-CH(CH3)-CH2-, CH2-CH(CH3)-, -CH(CH3)-CH2- or 1,4-dimethylene cyclohexane; n = at least 2; (ac) optionally other comonomers which can be copolymerized with (meth) acrylates of formulas (I) and (II) as component C, adjuvant monomers as component D, and (b) ester interchange or esterification of poly(meth)acrylate with hydroxyfunctional side chains with a (meth)acrylate or (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of an ester interchange- or esterification catalyzing enzyme. Independent claim S are included for: (1) poly(meth)acrylate curable by actinic radiation and/or Dual Care; (2) a top coating containing (wt.%):at least one poly(meth)acrylate curable as above (5-80), at least one photoinitiator (0.5-15), adjuvants and additives (0.5-8), pigment (0-40), and at least one filler (0-40); (3) a process for preparation of a paint formulation by mixing the components.
