<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device and an optical disk player equipped with the same, in which data are simultaneously read/written from/on the recording surfaces of a plurality of layers of an optical disk in an inexpensive and compact structure. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a laser light source 1 for emitting a laser beam, an objective lens 4 for focusing on the respective recording surfaces of the layers 0, 1 of an optical disk D, photodetectors 6, 7 for detecting the laser beam reflected from the optical disk D, and a diffraction grating 5 for diffracting a part of the reflected laser beams toward the photodetector 6, and capable of simultaneously writing data on the layers 0, 1. Reflected light from the layer 0 is diffracted by the diffraction grating 5 and detected by the photodetector 7, thereby the data of the layers 0, 1 can be simultaneously read. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
