PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of simulating the size distribution of a shoaling fish group using only parameters adaptable to reality for modeling, a method for applying actually measured data to the parameters to obtain a simulation result not different from the actual size distribution of the shoaling fish group, a program in use for the same, and a computer readable recording medium recording the program.
SOLUTION: The method of simulating the size distribution of the shoaling fish group comprises a procedure A using observation data for developing a population densityρof fishes and an average group size (N)p, a procedure B for finding splitting probability p from Equation 1 in accordance with the population densityρof fishes and the average group size (N)p, a procedure C for finding the total population of fishes asρ×s in relation to the size of a space represented by the total number s of lattice points, a procedure D for determining the total population of fishes,ρ×s, and performing Monte Carlo simulation of the number of steps per required time and the splitting/amalgamation/migration of the fish group in accordance with the splitting probability p, and a procedure E for finding the size distribution of the group from the simulation result.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
|
