PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high luminous efficiency organic electro-luminescence device having an light emitting layer which contains a plurality of hole transporting layers, host compound and phosphorescent dopant. SOLUTION: The organic electro-luminescence device has the light emitting layer which contains the first hole transporting layer, the second hole transporting layer, the host compound and the phosphorescent dopant in order from a positive electrode. Wherein, conditions (a) and (b) are satisfied. (a) T<SB>1b</SB>> T<SB>1c</SB>and T<SB>1a</SB>< T<SB>1c</SB>, where T<SB>1a</SB>is the minimum excitation triple energy of the first hole transporting material, T<SB>1b</SB>is the minimum excitation triple energy of the second hole transporting material and T<SB>1c</SB>is the minimum excitation triple energy of the host compound in the light emitting layer. (b) T<SB>1c</SB>> T<SB>1d</SB>, where T<SB>1c</SB>is the minimum excitation triple energy of the host compound and T<SB>1d</SB>is the minimum excitation triple energy of the phosphorescent dopant.
