PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paper for printing having a coated layer containing a hydrophobic pigment and an adhesive on at least one side of base paper, excellent in printability of printing smoothness and an inking property, etc., regardless of low white paper glossiness and density. SOLUTION: The coated paper for printing has the coated layer in which a space surrounded with the hydrophobic pigment is provided and has≤40% white paper glossiness of the coated paper and≤0.8g/cm<SP>3</SP>density. In the coated paper, it is preferable that the hydrophobic pigment has 10-80 M value and 0.01-5μm average primary particle diameter and the pigment is contained in an amount of≥15wt.% based on total pigments in the coated layer.
