PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for continuous treatment of a metallic strip capable of preventing the attraction of the metallic strip due to accompaniment currents. SOLUTION: The electrode used for the continuous treatment of the metallic strip comprises divided electrode plates 11, 12 and 13 formed by dividing an electrode plate to a plurality in the threading direction of the metallic strip. The divided electrode plates are fixed to electrode frames 10 by being inclined in such a manner that the inlet sides of the divided electrodes 11 on the threading start side are more separated from the metallic strip and the exit sides of the divided electrodes 11 and 12 on the threading end side are more separated from the metallic strip.
