A high-temperature fuel cell (HTFC) (7) partly replaces a combustion chamber (7a) in an aircraft's driving gear (2) and is fed with pure hydrogen on an anode side and with air on a cathode side, while the combustion chamber is fed with a mixture of hydrogen and air. On the anode side the HTFC is upstream from a single- or multi-stage turbine (16).
