发明名称 TREATMENT OF HIGHLY CONTAMINATED WATERS WITH HYDROCARBONS.
摘要 It is depicted a new application of the polymers derived from chitosan partially hydrolyzed (> to the 75%) as flocculants for treatment of polluted residual waters with hydrocarbons specifically, with residual waters of washing car businesses. Flocculation is useful in the process of clarification of potable waters and of industrial origin. The advantages of these natural polymers as flocculants are: less formation of muds, there¦s no need for a drastic adjustment of the pH, they form larger and more compact aggregates, they are formed faster, the concentration of salts remains low, and finally for being natural polymers they are biodegradable and do not affect the ecosystems. The waters generated in the auto-wash are difficult to treat for they contain oils (both emulsified and free), detergents, waxes, dust, and dissolved metals among other materials. Studied haze found between 4500 and 450 NTU and the suspended solid removal was higher than 99%. This material eliminates all the oil , both emulsified and suspended and by increasing the dose the water can be cleaned with values lower than 10 NTU. Additionally, the water pollution with oils in many other industries, allows seeing that this technological development has a great range of applications.
