A toilet bowl ventilating apparatus (10) includes a body (12) having a hollow planar mounting arm (14) and a fan housing (16). The mounting arm (14) is adapted to fit between a toilet seat and a toilet bowl. The mounting arm (14) has mounting apertures (20) adapted to receive mounting bolts which secure the toilet seat to the toilet bowl. An air intake (28) is provided on the mounting arm (14) such that air flows from the air intake (28) through the mounting arm (14) to the fan housing (16). A fan assembly (30) is provided including a fan (34) and a power source (36) adapted to power the fan (34). The fan assembly (30) is removable from the fan housing (16) to permit cleaning of the body (12). The body (12) is made from a material that permits cleaning in a dishwasher once the fan assembly (30) is removed.
