<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring-shaped optical network suitable for a large capacity data transmission having burst characteristics and improved in the efficiency of bandwidth, and to provide a node therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A core optical router which supports communication among many single ring-shaped optical networks having optical ad/drop routers mutually linked by two optical fiber links includes a wavelength division demultiplexing part 110 which demultiplexes a received optical signal and outputs it to each channel with different wavelength, a branching part 130, a switching part 120, a collision adjustment part 140 which aligns channels going to the same destination in time order, a wavelength division multiplexing part 150 which multiplexes the channels by every destination in block, a control part 160 which outputs a control signal to the switching part and the collision adjustment part. This optical network is characterized in that a frame to be transmitted on the multiple ring-shaped optical network includes burst data constituted of many pieces of packet data and header data indicating a destination of the burst data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
