<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel driving-gear which reduces the electric power consumption and calorific value of a drive circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The rate of lighting of light emitting display elements of a display panel is calculated and the value of the power source voltage to be supplied to the drive circuit for driving the light emitting display elements is set higher as such rate of lighting is higher.
