<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of particulate matters in exhaust gas of automobiles, etc. <P>SOLUTION: Holes 2 of 8 mm diameter are made almost regularly in a pure copper plate 1. The plate 1 is rectangular, 50 mm long, 500 mm wide, and 0.3 mm thick with 99% copper contents. The copper plate 1 is folded zigzag and installed in an exhaust pipe 4 of the automobile. If the plate-installation density is low, efficiency of removing black-smoke particulate is reduced, while if the density is high, emission of exhaust gas is affected to cause an engine stall.
