PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing the surface of leather which engraves a desired shape on the surface of the leather by using the rigidity of a base material while keeping the soft touch of the leather, and is inexpensive and of a short processing time, and also to provide a label manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: The leather 2 is arranged on one side of the base material 4. The base material 4 and the leather 2 are press-formed together to engrave the desired shape on the surface of the leather, and the base material 4 and the leather 2 are oscillation-welded.
