PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make confirmable the effect obtained by variable speed photographing by means of an imaging device single body without a separate reproducer in an electronic cinema system using the imaging device having a variable speed photographing function. SOLUTION: The imaging device is constituted of: an imaging section 110 for obtaining imaging signals having various frame rates X fps (frame per second); a frame memory section 121 having memory capacity by N frames; and a frame memory control section 122 for controlling the writing operation and reading operation of the imaging signal of the frame memory section 121. The frame memory control section 122 stores NxM frames on the frame memory section 121 by thinning the imaging signal to 1/M in addition to transformation operation from ordinary X fps to 60 fps having a substantial frame rate of X fps and outputs the X fps-imaging signal for (NxM/X) seconds as a signal having a substantial frame rate of 24 fps for (NxM/24) seconds. Consequently, the effect obtained by the variable speed photographing can be confirmed by means of the image device single body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
