PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly conduct a fast forward reproduction mode as well as normal reproduction and to obtain a good fast forward reproduced video. SOLUTION: A recording medium 1 records video/sound data for normal reproduction on a data recording region 2 for normal reproduction and recording position information for controlling the recording position of the TS (Time Slot) packet of the video/sound data for normal reproduction on a normal reproduction data position recording region 4. The video/sound data for normal reproduction are reproduced from the recording region 2 based on the recording position information in a normal reproduction mode. In addition, a fast forward reproduction data recording region 3 is provided. The recording region 3 records video data for fast forward reproduction for the video/sound data as the normal reproduction independent of the video/sound data for normal reproduction. The video data for fast forward reproduction are reproduced based on the recording position information recorded on the fast forward reproduction data position recording region 5 in a fast forward reproduction mode.
