PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device ready for various needs. SOLUTION: This image processing device 12 processing image data inputted from a media drive 16 or a scanner 18 and outputting them to a printer 14 or a CR-R writing device 52 is provided with an image processing part 24, in which a plurality of slots 30 for inserting a DSP board 28 are arranged so that an optional number of DSP boards 28 to the number of slots can be mounted. A control part 26 analyzes the inputted image data to determine the type of image processing to be operated, and decides image processing to be operated in each mounted DSP board 28 while taking the number of the DSP boards 28 mounted in the image processing part 24 into consideration. Image processing is carried out, when an image processing program matching each DSP board 28 is loaded and the image data to be processed are inputted into the image processing part 24.
