摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a low and high-density minute objects in blood smears, biological assays, and the like with a wide field of view. SOLUTION: The apparatus images a surface. An imager stage 20 linearly translates the surface in a first direction 29. A fiber optic bundle 40 has a first end of parallel first ends defining a linear input aperture perpendicular to the first direction and parallel to the surface, and a second end defining a nearly circular output aperture 48. A radiation beam linearly scans and interacts with the surface below the input aperture to produce a light signal that is collected by the input aperture and transmitted by the fiber bundle to the output aperture.
