PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for making the improving effect of comfortability such as riding comfort and road noise compatible with the improving effect of stability and controllability. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire has a pair of annular beads 1a, a carcass layer 10 of rolling back both ends by the beads 1a and a plurality of belt layers 6 for reinforcing a carcass layer 11a positioned under a tread by the hoop effect, and is characterized in that in the carcass layer 10, a cord is covered with topping rubber having two or more kinds of hardness, and the carcass layer 10 of an area between the outside end P1 of the innermost peripheral side belt layer 6a and a tire maximum width position P2 has an area C1 covered with topping rubber having the highest hardness.
