PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thread cassette which facilitates a preparatory work for sewing. SOLUTION: The thread cassette is equipped with a first thread holding part which holds a thread 34 before leading to a thread cutting edge 26 from a thread supply source and a second thread holding part which is positioned on the opposite side of the thread cutting edge 26 to the first thread holding part and holds the thread 34 after reaching the cutting edge 26 from a thread spool 18 being the thread supply source. Thus, the thread cassette is constituted so that the thread 34 is held at two places in a vicinity of the thread cutting edge 26. Accompanying hanging the thread 34 on the thread cassette by an operator, the thread 34 comes into contact with the cutting edge 26, and when the thread 34 is bent at an acute angle, the thread 34 is cut by the edge 26.
