PURPOSE: An apparatus for causing fault to a vehicle sensor is provided to easily detect the fault of the vehicle sensor and to easily perform a performance test for the vehicle sensor by causing fault to the vehicle sensor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for causing fault to a vehicle sensor includes a sensor section(10), a fault generating section(20), a control section(30), a brake actuator(40) and an engine output section(50). The sensor section(10) detects traveling information of a moving object. The fault generating section(20) causes the vehicle sensor to be erroneously operated. An error signal is inputted into the control section(30). The control section outputs a control signal in order to operate the brake actuator(40). The engine output section(50) controls the acceleration of a vehicle by receiving the control signal from the control section(30).
