PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating plants for thickening the taste of cultivated vegetables through cultivating plants in a depleted condition by restricting watering.

SOLUTION: The device 1 for cultivating plants comprises one or a plurality of plant cultivation vessel(s) 5 allowing water to go into the inside and set in a tank 4 in which a water supply channel 2 and a drainage channel 3 communicate with each other. A medium 9 is filled in the plant cultivation vessel 5. The method for cultivating plants comprises setting plants P in the plant cultivation vessels 5 of the device 1 for cultivating plants and intermittently supplying water or nutrient solution W from the water supply channel 2 to the tank 4.
