<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a theft monitoring system easy in operation, surely settable in a security mode, and superior in the theft monitoring effect. <P>SOLUTION: This theft monitoring system communicably connects on-vehicle electronic equipment having an authentication information input part for inputting authentication information and a theft monitoring device having preset one's own authentication information. The theft monitoring device verifies coincidence of both by collating ones's own possessing authentication information with the authentication information sent via the authentication information input part, and the on-vehicle electronic equipment has a display part for displaying this verification result information. When both authentication information coincide, the on-vehicle electronic equipment displays advance notice information on a display part for notifying beforehand starting of monitoring operation of the theft monitoring device (Step S4), and supplies a monitoring operation starting command signal to the theft monitoring device when electric power supply from a power source device is cut off (Step S8), and enables the theft monitoring device to start theft monitoring operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
