<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing cancer by which an antigen specifically and usually produced from cancer cells is specified and the general cancer can be diagnosed by using the presence or absence or the abundance of the antigen as an index. <P>SOLUTION: The presence or absence of cancer cells is diagnosed in a subject by using the presence or absence or the abundance of the cancer-specific antigen composed of a specified amino acid sequence in a specimen collected from the subject as the index. In the process, the presence or absence or the abundance of the cancer-specific antigen is detected or assayed by using, e.g. an antibody or its fragment characterized by specifically reacting with the cancer-specific antigen composed of the specified amino acid sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
