PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for recognizing a state in which bright variation of a headlamp is allowed, and if allowed, a load on an engine is reduced by variably controlling the generated voltage of a generator.
SOLUTION: A generated voltage variable controller comprises a generator 12 driven by an internal combustion engine, and a voltage control means 11 for variably controlling a generated voltage of the generator 12 according to an electric load on an electric equipment which is mounted on a vehicle. It further comprises a brightness detecting means for detecting brightness outside a vehicle, and a control permission judging means 11 which permits/inhibits variable control of a generated voltage based on a detected value from the brightness detecting means. Even if turning-on of a headlamp in the day time is imperative as in Europe, a generated voltage of a generator is variably controlled when the outside of a vehicle is as bright as in the day time and changing of a brightness of the headlamp does not affect safety, for example, to decrease a generated voltage, so that a load on an engine is reduced to prevent degradation of fuel consumption.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
|
