<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image on a card in which information can be imparted easily to the surface and side face of the card, and to provide an ink jet recorder. <P>SOLUTION: As a method for forming an image on a card, an image is also formed on the card-like side face by a process identical to that for forming an image on the surface of the card by an ink jet recording method. A card provided with an ink jet ink receiving layer at least on the surface of the card for performing ink jet recording is employed. A head for forming an image on the surface of the card is different from a head for forming an image on the side face. Furthermore, ink ejecting direction of the surface recording head is substantially perpendicular to the card surface, and ink ejecting direction of the side face recording head is more perpendicular to the image recording side face than the ink ejecting direction of the surface recording head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
