PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily cope with the addition and deletion of content data, and updating for tree structure, in an information management system stored with contents. SOLUTION: A database 4a is provided in a storage memory 45 of a central computer 40. The database 45a is stored with a content data comprising respectively data expressing content names, belonging genres (main genres, sub-genres, detail genres), the presence of the belonging genres and details of the contents, and a genre structure data for expressing genre structure of the contents. The genre structure data is compared with the data for expressing the belonging genre and the the presence of the belonging genres to update the genre structure data, when adding the content data, when deleting the content data, and when updating the genre structure data.
