PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate use even at a home; to perform a thinning cut without causing failure; and to facilitate switching operation for switching to an ordinary cut from the thinning cut. SOLUTION: In this hair cutter, a toothed blade 3 is longitudinally slidingly installed in a front end part of a hair cutter body 2; the combing cut is performed by advancing the toothed blade 3; and the ordinary cut is performed by a blade part 1 by retreating the toothed blade 3. In this hair cutter, a lock mechanism is arranged for locking so as not to retreat the toothed blade 3 in a state of advancing the toothed blade 3 to a prescribed position. The toothed blade 3 is provided with an operational projection 4 for operating when longitudinally slidingly operating the toothed blade 3. A lock release button 5 for pressingly operating when releasing a lock of the lock mechanism from a state of locking the toothed blade 3 by the lock mechanism, is inserted into an inserting hole 6 arranged in the toothed blade 3 to be exposed.
