The lock casing (2) is designed to be mounted on a door panel and contains an opening (213) for a door handle. A manually operated actuator (3) rotatably mounted on the casing comprises a shaft (32) located inside the casing and extending through the door handle opening, as well as a manually operated rotary handle (31) secured to one end of the shaft and located outside the casing. A cogwheel (4) is rotatably mounted on the actuator shaft. An elastic activating part (6) is secured to the actuator shaft via a fastener section (61) so that this part is turned as the shaft rotates. A counter-bearing section (62) of the activating part is located close to the cogwheel and an elastic connecting section (63) of this part extends between the fastener and counter-bearing sections, urging the latter section towards the cogwheel. An electric drive motor unit (7) for the cogwheel is housed inside the casing. A releasable connection unit can be used to connect the cogwheel eel to the activating part so that the latter and the actuator shaft can turn with the cogwheel when the latter is being driven by the motor. The connection unit disconnects the activating part from the cogwheel when the handle is turned so that the cogwheel is no longer turned as the activating part and actuator shaft rotate.
