<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire suitably used as a valve wire in combination with a single lumen balloon catheter or as a wire pusher in combination with a delivery catheter that coaxially houses a helical vaso-occlusive coil. <P>SOLUTION: A medical catheter wire assembly is provided with a super-elastic metallic core having a proximal wire section, an intermediate wire section 16, a distal wire section 14 more flexible than the intermediate wire section 16 and substantially linear and non-deformable, and a lubricious coating 26 for coating at least part of the intermediate and distal wire sections 16, 14; and a wire tip part 20 adjacent to the distal wire section 14 and enlarged in diameter to have a wire tip profile larger than the distal wire section 14 and substantially non-deformable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
