DOCUMENT BROWSER, METHOD OF BROWSING DOCUMENT, AND PROGRAM FOR MAKING COMPUTER IMPLEMENT THIS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document browser making it possible to receive additional information such as handwritten marks and display it in combination with document data to enable the retrieving and re-browsing of the document data based on this additional information. SOLUTION: The document browser includes an additional information receiving means for receiving the input of additional information; a browsing means for combining document data with the additional information and displaying the result on a display device; a position information acquisition means for acquiring information on the position of the additional information in the document data; a characteristic information acquisition means for acquiring information on the characteristics of the additional information; an additional information storage means for storing the additional information along with the position information and the characteristic information; an additional information search means which based on the characteristic information, searches for the additional information stored in the additional information storage means; and a search result display means by which a search result provided by the additional information search means is displayed on the display device.
