PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic compound that can be used for the luminous layer and the hole transport layer of a blue color LED. SOLUTION: This organic light-emitting diode comprises a positive electrode and a negative electrode formed on a substrate, and the luminous layer arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and the luminous layer contains a compound as expressed in the formula (I) or (II) of the [Fig.1]. Provided that, in the formula, Ar<SB>1</SB>and Ar<SB>2</SB>express each independently substituted or unsubstituted isochrysenyl, anthracenyl, naphthalyl, biphenyl, pyrenyl, or, phenanthrenyl, and Ar<SB>3</SB>contains a compound having substituted or unsubstituted phenylene, biphenylene, naphthylene, anthracenylene, or fluorenylene.
