PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate drive circuit that is used in a region, where a voltage is low and power for use is small, and that reduces the power loss. SOLUTION: The gate drive circuit comprises a DC power supply 8; a drive signal source 5 which outputs a drive signal of a rectangular waveform; a main switching element 3, in which the signal outputted from the drive signal source 5 is inputted to a gate terminal, and controls an energizing state between a source terminal and a drain terminal, according to the level of the signal; a load 4 that is energized, when the energizing state is brought about between the source terminal and the drain terminal; a backflow preventing means 1 that is connected between the drive signal source 5 and the gate terminal, and outputs a signal only in the direction of the gate terminal from the drive signal source 5; and a regenerative means 2, that is connected between the gate terminal and the high-potential side of a DC power supply 8, and brought into the energizing state, when a non-energizing state is brought about between the source terminal and the drain terminal. The threshold voltage, that causes the energizing state between the source terminal and the drain terminal, is higher than the output voltage of the DC power supply 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
