PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head for stabilizing the discharge of ink by suppressing the residual vibration of the pressure waves of the ink yielded in channel grooves to enable high speed printing, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The ink jet head is equipped with a base member 1 having channel grooves 3 formed thereto so as to separate them by channel walls 2 and the cover member 6 at least partially bonded to the upper surfaces of the channel walls 2. This ink jet head has gap parts spreading on the extension of the surfaces, which bond the channel walls 2 and the cover member 6, in an almost planar state to attenuate the pressure waves of ink. Preferably, the gap parts include regions held between the first recessed part 20 formed to the cover member 6 and the upper surfaces of the channel walls 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
