PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector equipped with a capping device for enhancing adhesion to a liquid ejection head. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer comprises a recording head having nozzles, a cap member 23 having a bottom face and a side wall part surrounding the bottom face and sealing the nozzle forming face of the recording head, a seal member 27 formed at the end part on the opening side of the cap member 23, and a pump connected with the cap member 23 and sucking ink in the recording head.
