PURPOSE: A device for embodying a multiple video characteristic in an image display device and a method therefor are provided to offer an optimal picture state by outputting inter-different video characteristics according to various work environment. CONSTITUTION: A video characteristic control unit(50) outputs inter-different video characteristics according to work types of an image display device. The video characteristic control unit(50) processes an inputted RGB signal according to a video characteristic corresponding to a current work type, and outputs the processed RGB signal to an image preamplifier(20). A switching control device(60) has a plurality of key input units according to the work types. If a user selects a key input unit corresponding to the current work type of the image display device, the switching control device(60) outputs a corresponding switching control signal. A switching unit(40) performs a switching operation for outputting the corresponding video characteristic of the video characteristic control unit(50) according to the switching control signal outputted from the switching control device(60). |
