PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive without trouble, a tube pump of a form in which both ends of a flexible tube curved in a circular loop shape are drawn out in the same direction and bundled within the same plane. SOLUTION: This liquid injection device has the tube pump 10 for exhausting the interior of a capping means 13 which seals a nozzle formation face of a liquid injection head 12. The tube pump 10 includes a tube member 20 constructed by curving the flexible tube in the circular loop shape and bundling tube both ends drawn out in the same direction within the same plane, a roller member which rolls the inner periphery of the circular loop shape part, and its driving source 22. When the pump is started, a control part 36 sends a low speed order signal corresponding to a low-speed rotational speed smaller than a predetermined high-speed rotational speed to the driving source 22 so as to accelerate the roller member in a standstill state to the predetermined high-speed rotational speed, and then sends out a high speed order signal corresponding to the predetermined high-speed rotational speed.
