PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication control method whereby an image imaged by a digital camera or the like can be faxed in a form of files. SOLUTION: In the case that a bit X of a FIF from a receiver is set, it is discriminated that the receiver has a JPEG reception function in a color space sYCC and a reception function of an image imaged by the digital camera and stored in a memory card. When transmission of an image file in the memory card is designated and the bit X of the FIF from the receiver is set, the image files in the memory card are sequentially transmitted. In this case, even when the number of pixels in the main scanning direction of file information is changed and color/monochromatic transmission is revised, a PPS-MPS signal is transmitted and the respective image files are transmitted.
