PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and proper joint structure allowing easy, secure, and firm jointing of steel of pipe columns without relying on welding at site and easy dismantling. SOLUTION: In this structure for jointing steel pipe columns as a column for a building in the axial direction, a joint steel pipe 3 is internally inserted across an upper end part of the steel pipe column 1 on a lower side and a lower end part of the steel pipe column 2 on an uper side to be jointed, and steel balls 9 are tightly filled into a clearance between an inner peripheral face of each steel pipe column and an outer peripheral face of the joint steel pipe. Or the joint steel pipe is provided in either of the upper end part of the steel pipe column on the lower side and the lower end part of the steel pipe column on the upper side to be jointed, the joint steel pipe is internally inserted into either of the other steel pipe column, and steel balls are tightly filled into the clearance between the outer peripheral face of the joint steel pipe and the inner peripheral face of the steel pipe column. A plurality of kinds of steel balls having different diameters are mixed and used.
