PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a program by utilizing audio information such as music used for the program, a voice guide announcing a commentary on the program or sounds of a commercial broadcasted in the program in an electronic program guide which is defined as a guide when selecting the program to watch by displaying commentary information of the program to be broadcasted on a screen. SOLUTION: An electronic program guide transmitting apparatus (1) is provided for adding audio information (D) to electronic program guide information (A), (B) and (C) and outputting the information as transmitting code streams (A), (B), (C) and (D). Further, an electronic program guide receiving apparatus (11) is provided for outputting audio signals by separating and decoding the audio information part (D) from the transmitting code streams (A), (B), (C) and (D).
