PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify passengers of an operating speed set at that time beforehand in a passenger conveyor formed so that a plurality of different operating speeds can be set only on an operation administrator side. SOLUTION: A display device 10 vertically installed on a floor surface is disposed near each entrance 22 of an escalator formed so that the operating speed can be set only on the operation administrator side. When the operating speed of the escalator is set to a normal speed (for example, 30 m/min), the display device 10 displays messages such as "normal operation". Also, when the operating speed is set to a high speed (for example, 40 m/min), the display device 10 displays messages such as "high-speed operation".
