PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia terminal which utilizes an amplification means such as an audio unit externally connected thereto, and also to provide a multimedia system having the terminal. SOLUTION: It is decided whether or not an exclusive audio unit 20A having amplifiers 32L, 32R is connected to an information communication terminal 12 as the multimedia terminal. When the unit 20A is connected to the terminal and music reproduction based on the voice source of the communication terminal is instructed, the amplifiers 32L, 32R of the audio unit 20A output voice from loudspeakers FL, FR, RL, RR. When the audio unit is not connected and music reproduction based on the voice source of the communication terminal 12 is not instructed, switch means 16L, 16R are switched so that amplifiers 30L, 30R of the communication terminal 12 output voice from the loudspeakers FL, FR.
