PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a compressor capable of efficiently cooling an inverter device and the compressor while saving the space, and a refrigerator provided with the cooling device. SOLUTION: The compressor 110 integrally mounted with the inverter device 112 and a fan motor 111 are housed in a machine chamber 109 formed over the whole width on the back surface lower part of the cabinet 108 of the refrigerator. The both are arranged in line so that the blowing air flow of the fan motor 111 is collided to the front of the inverter device 112 to cool it including the compressor 110. According to such a structure, the cooling device of the compressor with the inverter device can be made compact, and the cooling efficiency can be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
