PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing library generation method which can attain aimed precision by processing in a short period of time without requiring a number of points, can achieve an accurate error evaluation, and permits a few number of points to handle even if a table point is evaluated by a plurality of cells simultaneously. SOLUTION: The area width of an area which has the minimum delay value is defined to be magnitude within the minimum value of delay time of a plurality of basic cells at no load, so that accurate delay error evaluation can be achieved even when the amount of delay varies considerably. Furthermore, if it is determined that the aimed precision can not be attained by the current number of points, a new point is inserted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
