The device has switch unit between primary current/voltage input and secondary current/voltage output regions for controlled or controllable clocked transmission of a primary current and/or voltage from the primary to the secondary region and a switch unit drive device. The switch unit has a main switch for operating mode and a partial load and standby switch with lower power drain and/or losses than the main switch, especially in partial load mode. The device has a switch unit (S) between primary current/voltage input (PE) and secondary current/voltage output (SA) regions for controlled or controllable clocked transmission of a primary current and/or voltage from the primary to the secondary region and a switch unit drive device (C). The switch unit has a main switch (SW1) for the operating mode and a partial load and standby switch (SW2) with lower power drain and/or losses than the main switch, especially in partial load mode.
