<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device of high reliability which is capable of immediately reading correct data even if an ECC error occurs while the data are being read, and its control method. <P>SOLUTION: When an instruction to mirror-write is input to the storage device, the same data are written into different storage media. At the same time, the control means of the storage device creates mirror-write management information (data ID, mirror-write flag, logical address and the like). If one of the storage media is in trouble while the data are being read, the correct data are read from the other storage media.
