<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic wood head in which appearance of the surface of a sole is improved while the vertical strength of a head body connecting a top and the sole is increased and further, a moment of inertia is enlarged as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: In the metallic wood head wherein a sole 10S and a shaft fixing part 10Z having a shaft fixing hole are integrally formed by casting at least, the shaft fixing part is cylindrical and protruded into an inner space SP of the head body, only the portion of a lower end 10ZD of the shaft fixing part and closer to the side of a heel 10H is connected to the sole, and the other portions of the lower end is off the sole. The cylindrical part is formed to have a gap space SPH which communicates with the inner space of the head body between the inner surface of the heel and the inner surface of a face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
