PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized cooled electronic camera in a simple constitution capable of suppressing dark noise even in use at a high temperature. SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element incorporation section 3 contains a CCD or CMOS photoelectric conversion element 4 and a thermoelectric cooling module 1, and a side of an endothermic side substrate 6 of the thermoelectric cooling module 1 is located thermally in contact with the photoelectric conversion element 4. One end of a heat pipe 9 thermally connected to the thermoelectric cooling module 1 is placed at a side of a heat dissipation substrate 7 of the thermoelectric cooling module 1, and a cooling unit 8 is provided at the other end of the heat pipe 9 to cool the heat delivered through the heat pipe 9 by utilizing a phase change in a cooling member 15 provided in the cooling unit 8.
