PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the direct recording of data from peripheral external equipment through USB connection in the state that a host device is USB-connected. SOLUTION: This optical information recording/reproducing device 1 carries out data recording/reproduction on an optical disk (MO (magneto-optical) disk) 28 which is a removable optical recording medium. The device is composed of: a digital still camera 21 connected to a 1st connector 5; a direct copy control part 23 for transmitting and receiving the data; a USB bus changeover circuit 27 for outputting one out of data from a personal computer 24 connected to a 2nd connector 10 and data from the direct copy control part 23; and an optical disk drive control part (MO drive control part) 29 for recording/reproducing data from the USB bus changeover circuit 27 on the optical disk 28.
