PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene-based cross-linked foam which comprises a linear low or medium density polyethylene having a specific density, high pressure method low density polyethylene, a low mol. wt. polyolefin wax having a specific viscosity-average mol. wt. and a specific melting point, and a nucleating agent, has excellent heat resistance and low thermal shrinkage factor even under high temperature environments, and can thereby be applied to automotive interior cushioning materials, building heat-insulating materials, industrial materials, furnitures, electric appliances, and piping heat-insulating materials for buildings or electric appliances. SOLUTION: This polyethylene-based cross-linked foam is characterized by cross-linking and foaming a resin comprising a linear low or medium density polyethylene (1) produced by copolymerizing ethylene with a 3 to 12Cα-olefin and having a density of≤0.94 g/cm<SP>3</SP>, high pressure method low density polyethylene (2) having a density of≥0.923 g/cm<SP>3</SP>, a low mol. wt. polyolefin wax (3) having a viscosity-average mol. wt. of 1,500 to 10,000 by a viscosity method and having a melting point of 100 to 160°C by DSC measurement, and a nucleating agent (4).
